About Me...

Kelmy Rodriquez as a child was born and raised in Spanish Harlem, New York. He has seen the short term and long term effects of poverty, social disadvantage, domestic violence, gang activity, drug dependency, illiteracy, and bullying in our community. He has endured and triumphed over years of personal hardships and tribulations such as addiction, social deviance, sexual abuse and the murders of his mother, his fiance, and daughter from gun violence.


He serves in many capacities, to name a few; 


*New York County Democratic Sergeant At Arms. 

*New York State Democratic Judicial Delegation, First Judicial District. 

*Former New York City Emergency Responder.

*Former Westchester County Emergency Medical Services Supervisor, Special Operations Division.

*Ordained and Licensed Christian Minister.

*Labor/ Political/ Community Organizer. 

*Homeless Prevention Specialist. 

*Relief and Recovery Task Force, 30th Senatorial District.

*Neighborhood Advisory Board, Department of Youth and Community Development, Neighborhood Advisory Board #11.

*Carter Specialty Hospital Advisory Board, New York City Health and Hospitals.

*Staff Minister, East Ward Missionary Baptist Church.

*New York City Elder, National Association of Christian Ministers.

*Vice-President, Nuevo Caribe Democratic Club 

(the First Puerto Rican founded Political Club in the United States- Est. in 1949).


 
Kelmy is the founder of the Fellowship Corner, a Christian based organization that strives to bring the Church of Christ to the homes of Christians that are not able to attend a traditional church setting due to disabilities & geriatric status. He was appointed to the position of New York City Elder for the National Association of Christian Ministers  in late 2017. This appointment was a historical moment in its kind being the first appointed Elder in New York City. The N.A.C.M. is a non-denominational association of Professional Christian Ministers committed to advance the Kingdom of God by effectively equipping & encouraging those answering a call to ministry through ordination, licensing, mentoring, practical ministry-skills training, mutually edifying fellowship, and conferring church charters.  


He has continuously advocated for the creation of Anti-Bullying programs for our Children and Senior Citizens, Affordable Housing, Improved NYCHA living conditions, Section 3 Implementation and skilled trades careers for NYCHA residents,  Job Development programs, working relationships between City agencies and Community Leaders, Drug Dependency programs along with Community Health programs and an end to the Jim Crow Drug Laws.


He is a father of 4 children and has a Doctoral degree in Systematic Theology with a minor in Christian Counseling, he is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. He has been a news contributor regarding Community Policing, Public Health and Safety matters on various news networks such as CNN, WPIX 11, FOX 5, NBC 4, 1010 WINS & Channel 7 Eyewitness News gaining national and international exposure. 


He is a recipient of a New York State Assembly Citation for Exceptional Community Service, a New York State Senate Recognition Award for Public Service, a Humanitarian Award for Societal Contributions, a Special Congressional Recognition for Community Affairs and multiple Live Save Commendations from the New York City Fire Department.


He is currently in the process of publishing his first book this year, "Axioms of An Urban Minister", "An ongoing journey of Revelations." His second book, "From the Gutter to GOD" is expected to be released in 2022.

United By A Common Goal

I am running to be our next New York County Vice-Chair in order to fight for resources and a better quality of life in our neighborhoods for all.  


I am  running in order to create working relationships within the party and end discords  amongst divisions for the betterment of Our Communities within New York County.


I am running with a focus of increasing voter engagement and return faith into the  election process.


We have done great things in our current status, imagine what we can do if we win the next Democratic Convention in 2019!

We can't win this race without your help. Flyering, word-of-mouth, and donating are all ways of helping us achieve our goals together for the betterment of our community this upcoming Democratic Convention in 2019. 


For the Democratic Party to progress, we need Progressive Leaders! It is time for leaders that are hands on in the community - who have positive solutions to the complexities on community and political platforms to step up.  


We need leaders who can build working relationship with Elected Officials and Community Leaders for the betterment of our communities.
